Suggested External Link Modification
Hello Wikipedians, my name is Allan and I've been contributing a very little on band pages (usually in members timeline, I love them!).
But looking in SOAD page today for news on the 'new album' I noticed the RIAA link and followed it, to a generic page. Navigating on the site I found the page I assume it's the desired on the link, and it is this: https://www.riaa.com/gold-platinum/?tab_active=default-award&se=toxicity#search_section , but I couldn't edit the SOAD page. So, if anyone could do it for me please do.
- Never heard them referred to as such. Would require reliable secondary sources. -- ferret (talk) 00:03, 11 February 2018 (UTC)
Can't we take off nu-metal and add heavy metal?
Listen to this band. Then listen to Linkin Park, or Limp Bizkit. Very clear difference. "Nu" in the term doesn't really stand for alternative, it stands more for rap/modern pop. I know if I try to edit it to just "heavy metal" it would get almost immediately changed so can we all agree that one of their genres should definitely be heavy metal, or can we atleast just remove "nu-metal"?? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cookiefortress (talk • contribs) 00:28, 28 May 2018 (UTC)
- No. The genres in use are reliably sourced and appropriate. -- ferret (talk) 12:42, 28 May 2018 (UTC)
What is “a Down”?
I’m sure the answer is out there in Google.
I was hoping to understand the name. Is “a Down” something that brings you down; how does “system” make sense (if it’s meant to); what did “victims” mean, originally?
(I always wondered if “A Down” was a crossword reference).
- Quite right...Google. This page is for discussing ways in which to improve the article. Robvanvee 13:43, 1 July 2019 (UTC)
- I think this article would be improved if it included the band’s explanations for their choice of their name. MBG02 (talk) 17:54, 2 July 2019 (UTC)
